“It’s a restaurant from the past,” says manager Ahsan Anwar of Cheeburger Cheeburger. Judging from the ’50s music and the diner-type atmosphere — with turquoise and chrome chairs and stools and plenty of pink neon lights — it’s probably safe to say Sandy and Danny would feel right at home here. Although it’s a national chain — its name taken from a Saturday Night Live skit — this location is one of only two in Texas (the other is in Southlake). Since it opened in October, Cheeburger Cheeburger has become a hit among cheeseburger and shake lovers in the neighborhood. And why not? They offer more than 62 flavors of shakes and malts and five different sizes of cheeseburgers, including the “Pounder.” If you can finish off this beast of a burger, your picture will be added to the wall of fame. But the “Pounder” is not the only big hitter; try an order of the “Frings” — half onion rings and half French fries. If you do, be ready to eat — a small order ain’t so small around these parts.
