SMU’s student newspaper, The Daily Campus, ran a story today about a male student who reportedly drugged and assaulted a woman last week. The student was “affiliated with the SAE fraternity,” and according to the woman’s story, the assault took place inside the SAE fraternity house.
This probably isn’t the first time you recall reading about the SAE fraternity in recent times. A 20-year old student overdosed on drugs and alcohol in the SAE house in December of 2006. Two more SMU students overdosed on drugs or alcohol by that following May.
This latest incident has been turned over to SMU’s Office of Student Life after the woman decided not to press charges. The case will now go to the university judicial council where the student could face expulsion or suspension, among other things.
