For someone with brown thumbs like me, the Dallas Farmers Market is the closest I’m going to get to right-off-the vine fresh tomatoes and strawberries.
This time of year, I especially love shopping (and sampling) the summer selection at the Dallas Farmers Market, and apparently, so does chef John Stout over at Celebration Restaurant.
He’s just introduced a new seasonal menu featuring lots of fresh local produce. For example, there are Saxon Farm tomatoes that are served with pesto and mozzarella–or you can order a side of summer yellow squash from Lemley Produce in Canton.
And just an FYI, you can also order all these dishes to-go from Celebration’s market. You know, in case you want to order a bucket of fresh fruit salad for your Fourth of July barbecue, and then tell all your guests you made it yourself.
