School has just barely let out for the summer, but if your kids are already driving you crazy then you’ve undoubtedly started considering some day camps to get them out of your hair.
You might want to consider the culinary summer camp at Suze in Preston Hollow. Kids in third trough twelfth grades can try their hands out on some gourmet meals, get some kitchen safety tips, and learn about nutrition.
The week-long classes meet for four hours a day, and will run you $400 (or $150 for one class). That’s a bit steep, but your kids also get an apron, a set of mixing bowls, a whisk, a set of measuring spoons, a set of measuring cups, a recipe book, and a student chef’s tool box.
But what might just make this summer camp really worth every penny you spend is the fact that your kids get to bring home everything they cook, so you get a week’s worth of leftovers. Plus, now your kids will be able to cook for themselves over the summer. Now that’s priceless.
