The University of Texas at Dallas is sponsoring an engineering and computer science camp for neighborhood high school kids going into their senior years. The school has been recruiting for a few months now, but there are still 8 vacancies. The invite is open to seniors from any school, but they must have an interest in pursing a college degree in science, technology, engineering, or math. The camp includes several science-oriented workshops, and college prep seminars. Plus, kids who enroll earn a special consideration for UTD scholarships. The camp runs Monday, Aug. 4 to Saturday, Aug. 9, and there is a $25 fee to reserve a seat. If you’re interested in learning more, call project manager Jacqueline Long at 972.883.4279 or e-mail her.
