Elizabeth Boone McLean, Associate Pastor, Mission & Evangelism at Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church sent an email from vacation to members of her church yesterday with the idea for the church to collect both kids and adult shoes for North Dallas Shared Ministries this week.  Seems the title of Elizabeth’s sermon this week is "The Diary of a Pair of Shoes" and she thought how cool would it be to have shoes donated and displayed in the sanctuary as a visual aid?  Well, actually donated to help others but used to accent the point of the sermon also.

And wouldn’t our shoes have great diaries?  The places we take them, the things they get all over them, the conversations they hear, the ground they touch?

Anyone have shoes they aren’t using and want to donate?  Drop them off to Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church and they will make their way to North Dallas Shared Ministries.  Since I haven’t worn a "real" pair of shoes almost all summer, I am going to dig through my closet and find something to contribute.  I am certain that among our three daughters there will be several pairs of shoes walking on out of here.
