I typically don’t start thinking about holiday shopping until…oh, I don’t know, December 23? But if you are actually one of those responsible types that doesn’t procrastinate, here are a few neighborhood events to help you get a jump start on your holiday shopping this weekend.

Swing by North Haven Gardens for the annual holiday arts and crafts fair is this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.–but I suggest you stop by precisely at 1:30. That’s when folks from TJ’s will be there hosting a holiday tasting. Aside from free food samples, there will also be vendors offering up all sorts of jewelry, stained glass works, photography, weaving, and art.

If you’re shopping spree is still going strong (coffee always helps), you can head over to Jesuit afterward. They’ll also be having their annual holiday craft show with all sorts of unique handmade gifts by more than 100 vendors. Plus there will be all sorts of home-baked goodies and Santa will be making a guest appearance from 9 a.m. to noon.

Both events are free to to enter, and guaranteed to have way better parking spots than anything you’re going to find at NorthPark, trust me. Happy holiday shopping…
