The Hillcrest Academic decathlon team won a gold medal in the overall category, and a silver medal in the superquiz relay category. Teammates include Hugo Calderon, Avery Centala, Ryan Conway, Ben Debus, Jeremy Dickie, Mattia Flabiano, Ana Olivares, Esmeralda Romero, Abby Tarlo and Dulce Velásquez.

Two Hockaday students have signed commitments to play collegiate sports. Neighborhood resident Olivia Bailey signed with Loyola Marymount University for volleyball, and Spindrift Beck signed with the University of Texas at Austin for swimming.
