Vickery meadow learning center, a nonprofit founded by members of Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church, is looking for volunteers for its June 8 through July 2 class sessions. Opportunities include English as a Second Language teachers, activity club teachers and pre-school assistants. Training and orientation will take place on Wednesday, May 27. Assistance League of Dallas is a volunteer group dedicated to assisting the elderly, children and the abused. Volunteers work in structured and established programs for Children’s Medical Center, Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center and Dallas ISD. Dallas CASA is seeking volunteers to train as advocates for abused and neglected children. CASA empowers everyday citizens to speak up in court for the best interest of children who have been removed from their homes because of abuse or neglect. Volunteers gather information for the court and work with the child welfare system and others to help quickly find a safe, permanent home for each child.
