With the economy being the way it is, religious communities are trying to help their members cope and get through it.

At the Congregation Shearith Israel synagogue in Preston Hollow, the organization has started a series of events its calling the “Leap of Action Series,” named so because of the teaching of 20th century theologian Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel, who said Judaism does not take a leap of faith, but rather a leap of action.

Wednesday, the series will continue with a lecture on marketing and public relations called “Become a Marketing Rockstar in a Rocky Economy.”

The lecture will teach strategic and cost-effective marketing techniques for businesses from Donna Bender of the Donna Bender Company, and Marketing/PR consultant Susan Morrow.

The event is free and open to the public, but you need to make a reservation by contacting Jo Reingold at 214-361-6606 or jreingold@shearith.org
