On June 15, a group of kids will hit the links of the Brookhaven Country Club for the KidSwing, a nine-hole golf tournament to raise money for the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.

If you don’t feel like cooking tonight, you can get in on the fundraising action by going to the Tin Star restaurant at Preston Center from 4 to 9 p.m. The restaurant will be donating 15 percent of its sales to Scottish Rite Hospital. In addition, Kidswing will be collecting old cell phones for recycling. Each donated cell phone will net the KidSwing tournament $10 for its fundraising efforts.

Parents can also sign up their kids ages seven to 18 for the tournament.

The KidSwing tournament was founded in 2003 by former Scottish Rite patient Ben Sater and his mom. In addition to the Dallas tournament, there is a McKinney tournament scheduled in July. So far, KidSwing has raised more than $660,000 for the children’s hospital.
