Co-owner of The Cultured Cup is state’s first Certified Tea Specialist

Kyle Stewart, co-owner of The Cultured Cup, has just become the first Certified Tea Specialist in Texas, a distinction that only 23 other people in the world have.

In order to earn that title, Stewart had to complete seven courses from the Specialty Tea Institute about the foundations of tea, sensory evaluation, and the five categories of tea: white, green, oolong, black and pu-erh. He was awarded the title recently during the 2009 World Tea Expo in Las Vegas.

Stewart has co-owned The Cultured Cup in our neighborhood for more than 14 years with his business partner, Phil Krampetz.
