Thanks to a new document drafted by the Dallas Urban Forest Advisory Committee, building industry leaders and urban forest advocates may reach agreement when it comes to the preservation of Dallas’ trees.

The document contains recommended changes to Article 10 of City Code, otherise known as the Landscape and Tree Preservation Regulations. The changes will affect a neighborhood’s look and feel over the next decade. According to the document, the existing ordinance is contributing to difficulties in development, and redeveloping the city as a whole. Read the draft tree ordinance recommendations here.

Today, the committee will hold a public hearing to receive citizen input regarding its draft recommendations to revise the current regulations. Read the press release here
