If you have a green thumb and a couple of hours to spare, Kramer Elementary could use your help tending to the school garden.

I chatted with new PTA president Kimberly Sloan today, who told me they could use help with things like clearing brush, and harvesting crops.

“We could use some help picking all those cucumbers—there’s almost always too many of those. Over the last few years we’ve had a lot of neighborhood support, but it’s fallen off recently for whatever reason. We’d really like to have that back.”

Right now, a big back-to-school garden clean up is in the works. If you’d like to donate some gardening equipment or offer some volunteer time,  you can contact PTA garden coordinator Percy Parrish.
