Police have arrested a man they suspect is responsible for two sexual assaults in our neighborhood this month.

On Aug. 2 around 5 a.m. a woman driving down the 2700 block of West Davis got into a fender-bender with a man driving a truck. When she got out of her car to survey the damage, he insisted they pull into a nearby parking lot to exchange insurance information. Once there, he forced her into his car by knifepoint, drove her to the 400 block of N. Cavendar, and sexually assaulted her.

On Aug. 15 around 5 a.m. another female motorist got into a car accident with a similarly described man near Marsh and Forest. When she pulled into a nearby parking lot to exchange insurance information, again the man forced her into his car at knifepoint and sexually assaulted her.

The suspect that police have in custody is described as a Latin male in his 30s with short black hair and acne scars. He is 5’ 6” to 5’ 10” and weighs about 175 lbs. Although an arrest has been made, neighbors are still urged to be on watch. If anyone has more information regarding this crime rash, they’re asked to call the Dallas Police Department’s Crimes Against Persons Division at 214.671.3584.
