When I was in sixth grade, I decided I want to play the flute, so my parents got me the works: an instrument, books of music, a stand and a new case. I quit two months later. No doubt, kids tend to be irresolute — so, the Hillcrest-area lacrosse team is letting boys try out the sport before making any long-term commitments, or financial investments.

Preston Hollow boys in grades fourth through eleventh are invited to “give it a try” sessions Sunday afternoons from 3 to 4:30 at the practice field off Lakehurst and Airline. Sessions are scheduled for Nov. 22, and Dec. 6, 13, and 20. Coaches will have plenty of lacrosse equipment to loan, and they’ll teach the boys everything they need to know.

This team is made up of neighborhood kids from schools without lacrosse teams (which includes public and private schools). If you have any questions, you can email parent  David Look.
