Residents and staff members at the Edgemere senior living community in Preston Hollow are pitching in to help Haitians affected by the recent earthquake. They’ve joined forces with the SQLC Charitable Foundation and sister senior living communities The Buckingham in Houston, Querencia at Barton Creek in Austin, Mirador under construction in Corpus Christi and The Stayton at Museum Way under construction in Fort Worth to create the “Help for Haiti Fund.”

Contributions from those at Edgemere totaled more than $10,000. The combined efforts have raised more than $15,000 for the American Red Cross International Response Fund. In addition to creating the fund, Edgemere hosted a blood drive benefitting the American Red Cross Dallas area chapter.

“I am honored to be a part of a community that looks beyond its walls to meet the needs of others,” said John Falldine, managing director of Edgemere.
