If you can navigate a Japanese menu with finesse, Sushi Zushi is your spot. Umeboshi musubi, ton katsu, hiyaykko — there’s page after page of Japanese comfort foods. And if you’re not versed in Japanese cuisine, no worries—there’re California rolls and tuna towers, too. On a recent visit there I stuck to what I knew, the sashimi sampler, a healthy dose of tuna, salmon, and octopus. It ran me about $17, which is average for that dish, and was fair considering there was plenty.

During lunchtime you can take advantage of one of the several bento box specials, which go for about $14. Or, you can do happy hour in the chic bar lounge Monday through Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. Daily drink specials are $6 sake samplers, $6 premium martinis, and $4 wells.
