Nathan Adams Elementary School was one of 13 in the country to receive the National Excellence in Urban Education Award. Now if that’s not a license for bragging rights, I don’t know what is.

The National Center for Urban School Transformation gives the award annually. All schools must meet 11 criteria in the areas of proficiency rates on state tests, high attendance and graduation rates, progress in the No Child Left Behind program, and and other indicators of academic excellence. Nathan Adams Elementary is the second school in Dallas ISD to receive the award. James Bonham Elementary School also won it back in 2009.

Congratulations Armadillos!
