I, like many in this business, am a word nerd. I love learning their origin, and am always trying to expand my vocabulary. In fact, I’m still familiarizing myself with Merriam-Webster’s new entries for 2009. I recently learned that I’m a locavore, for example.

But that list isn’t nearly as funny as this list of made-up words for the 21st Century that my fellow Advocate editor Rachel Stone shared with me. My favorite? ‘Blamestorming: sitting around in a group, discussing why a deadline was missed or a project failed, and who was responsible.” Ah, so that’s the term for what we do during all those staff meetings.
