The Earth Day celebration at Mockingbird Station kicks off at 4 p.m. Thursday with a farmers market, which was organized by neighbor Brian Cummings. The retail complex will host a farmers market every Thursday from 4-7 p.m. this spring, starting this week. Vendors include Lucky Layla Farms, P.O.P. Acres and the Texas Olive Ranch.

At 6 p.m., Texas Discovery Gardens will be on hand to release butterflies.

At 7 p.m., the Angelika has a free premiere screening of "A Chemical Reaction", a documentary about a small town that fought chemical lawn treatment companies and lobbyists. The celebration is sponsored by Preservation Tree Services Inc. and Soils Alive.
