Try some brews Friday at The Cultured Cup where tea experts will show you how to detect certain flavor characteristics. It’s from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. as part of the store’s monthly T-Bar event. For $30, an annual membership grants admission each month with a 10 percent discount on store purchases.

The Glen Meadow Estates HOA will host an outdoor concert at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Glen Cove Park, featuring the Guys and Dolls vocal group. Be sure to grab a blanket or lawn chair, and you can tote a cooler with food and drinks — but no alcohol. The neighborhood sits between Midway and Marsh to the east and west and LBJ and Forest to the north and south.

Take in some culture at the African Cultural Festival and Family Picnic from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Reverchon Park. It’s presented by the African Leadership Council of DFW International Alliance. A Parade of Nations will feature dances, food and traditional garb. For the kids, there’s Kenyan face painting, a Nigerian treasure hunt, Ghananian weaving, Cameroonian masks and Ethiopian gebeta. Bring drums and shakers for the African Drum Circle along with your favorite picnic items (blankets, Frisbees, etc.)
