Growing up, Carson Leslie was just a normal teenager in the Preston Hollow neighborhood. He played sports, attended the Covenant School of Dallas, was active in the Grace Bible Church youth group, and was a model son and brother.

In fall 2006, at the age of 14, Carson was diagnosed with brain cancer.

While battling the disease, Carson never took a single moment for granted. He traveled the country to participate in drug trials, forming friendships everywhere he went —  whether it be with the nurses in charge of his care or celebrities like Texas Rangers third baseman Michael Young. MyFOXdfw chronicled a few of his accomplishments back in June 2009, and in September Carson took to YouTube and posted a video about his journey and upcoming book.

After fighting the cancer for three long years, he passed in January 2010. Luckily for the rest of us, Carson took pen to paper and wrote down his story.

His book, “Carry Me”, is now available for purchase at Dougherty’s Pharmacy. Copies are  selling for $15, and proceeds will go to the Carson Leslie Foundation in support of  pediatric cancer research.
