Medical City will dedicate its new children’s wing at 10 a.m. Friday. It’s part of a $212 million renovation that adds 60 new beds for pediatric care. There’s also a four-story atrium, family resource center and a healing garden.

The 100,000 square foot facility will have more than 50 specialty pediatric practice areas, and neonatal ICU beds will increase by 45 percent while non-neonatal beds will jump 60 percent. Medical City is known for being a place where mothers with high-risk pregnancies can deliver their babies and have them treated in the same facility.
