Ramon Nunez, W.T. White 2003 alum and World Cup midfielder for Honduras

Ramon Nunez plays midfield for his home country of Honduras at the World Cup, but he grew up right here in the neighborhood. The 2003 W.T. White alumnus attended SMU before being drafted in 2004 by FC Dallas, formerly known as Dallas Burn.

After a stint with the Los Angeles side of Chivas USA, he returned home and signed with the Olimpia soccer league of Honduras in 2008 where his teammates nicknamed him “el principito” or “the little prince.” He also received the player of the season award.

Honduras lost against Chile this morning but plays again at 1:30 p.m. June 21 against Spain. Follow Nunez’s team here.
