Hillcrest Forest: The Hillcrest Forest Neighborhood Association is hosting a parade around Kramer Elementary, and everyone is encouraged to participate with their bikes, scooters, vintage cars and pets. It all starts at 10 a.m. Sunday at 7131 Midbury.

Sparkman Club: The Sparkman Club Estates will begin its festivities at 10 a.m. Sunday with a kids parade. The “Grand Parade” will start at 11 a.m. at the clubhouse, heading east on Duchess. Here’s the Sparkman schedule for the rest of the day:

  • Noon-1:30 p.m.: Barbecue lunch for $5-$10 a plate. Pre-order by calling Cindy Beatty at 214.207.6202 or email her at cindybeatty@kw.com.
  • 1:30 p.m.: Apple pie baking contest
  • 4 p.m.: Singing of the National Anthem
  • 1-5 p.m. (ongoing): The kids can enjoy music by DJ Geoff along with games, prizes and a water slide. The pool’s open until 7 p.m.

There are also a few restaurant specials out there, including TJ’s (at Preston and Forest) Lobster sale ($15.99 per pound) through Sunday. And Fish City Grill has all-you-can-eat snow crab for $24.99 on Saturday and Sunday.
