W.T. White alumnus Bryan Holaday helped take TCU to the NCAA World Series this year, although the team lost in the semi finals to UCLA. But that didn’t keep the Horned Frogs catcher from receiving the 2010 Johnny Bench Award last week at the 13th annual Greater Wichita Sports Banquet. The award is given to the most outstanding collegiate catcher in the nation.

Holaday ranked in the top 10 in the Mountain West Conference in slugging percentage (.599), hits (90), doubles (23), home runs (13) and gave up only two passed balls. He was selected by the Detroit Tigers in the sixth round of the 2010 Major League Draft.
