The Hillcrest High School cheerleading squad took home several awards at Cheer Camp this summer where they honed techniques and bonded as a team.

The Varsity squad received two “superior” blue ribbons, and JV brought home a “superior” and “excellent” ribbon. Varsity won the First Place Champs Award and together, the two teams won the “banana” award, which recognizes the school with the most positive spirit. The mascots received a “most superior” gold ribbon for their performance.

Ava Fechtman and Kanethia Dobbins both got the “Pin It Forward” honor for girls with outstanding contributions to the overall camp experience.

And this year, Hillcrest claims five UCA All-American cheerleaders on its squad: Meghan Thompson, Zoe Wright, Molly Fisher, Nichole Porras, and Kenya Mays. Congratulations, ladies.
