I still have considerable family in Chicago, as well as quite a few friends from my college days. And we have one rule. I’m not allowed to complain about winter down here, and they can’t complain about summer up there.

So what do I see in the Chicago Sun-Times this morning? “Chicago-area residents have endured a record number of 80-degree days this summer and the streak is continuing. …”

80-degree days? 80-degree days? We haven’t had a daily low below 80 degrees for a week, and the average low this month is 80.2 degrees. And we all know about the 100-degree streak, 17 days and counting.

If they aren’t careful, I’m going to send them the video from the Great Snowstorm of 2010.
