Medical City and its Children’s Hospital hosted fishing tournament, Hook em’ for Heroes, over the weekend to help raise $100,000 for the local non-profit, Heroes for Children. The organization provides support to families in Texas whose children have been diagnosed with cancer.

Saturday’s event at Breckenridge Park in Richardson was geared toward kids and featured face painting, bounce houses and crafts along with ample fishing at the lake. More than 600 people participated.

The money raised goes directly toward families struggling with expenses as their child battles cancer.
