Cindi’s is the closest thing we have to a true New York deli with its comfortable and huge variety of pastries, bagels, sandwiches, soups, cakes and that all-around comfort food. And there’s plenty of Jewish staples like Matzo ball soup, knishes and Reubens. There’s two locations in our neighborhood, one at Central and Royal and another at Forest and Marsh.
I stopped in earlier this week and ordered the one of the daily specials, beef stew and corn bread. The thick and hearty soup had a tomato base, which I wasn’t expecting, and was loaded with veggies. It was something different, and I like different.
The service was pretty perfect – friendly and timely. Definitely a place to sit down and stay a while.
