A few Dallas ministers collaborated on an op-ed piece in the Dallas Morning News , remembering 9/11 and reflecting on where we are today. Our own Blair Monie, senior pastor of Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church and our regular worship columnist, contributed to the article.

Their message of peace, nine years after the devastating attack on our country,  is more timely than ever considering all the religious and political fighting going on right now. Here’s an excerpt:

“What is a faithful response to this violence? Some respond by demonizing other religions, slandering revered leaders, burning their holy books or rallying people around their cause of defending God. Yet is religious extremism the best response to religious extremism? Does it not perpetuate the cycle of violence? History repeatedly teaches the lesson that when we vilify an entire race, religion or nationality, we diminish the humanity of us all.”
