Jesuit will celebrate its brand new, 6,000-seat athletic stadium during the venue’s first game Friday against Lake Highlands.

The facility sports a new Field Turf Duraspine Pro field with a 900-square-foot press box. The school aims to reduce disturbance to surrounding neighborhoods with a special audio and lighting system that channels sound and spotlights directly into the stadium. The structure also meets the City of Dallas Green Building Program.

The upgrade was part of an overall $28 million campus improvement plan funded by We Are Jesuit. Since 2007, the campaign has helped add new classrooms and a multi-functional library and information center.

A tailgate party will begin at 5:30 p.m. Friday, and festivities include a fireworks display.
