The city will hold a Recycling Roundup 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, and our neighborhood can participate at the Unity Church of Dallas where a shred truck will be on site. The first 50 vehicles to arrive will receive free tickets for the Dallas Stars. Here’s what you bring to recycle:

Electronic items (TVs, video games, cell phones, computers, calculators and printers), toys, paper, glass, used cooking oil, books, scrap metal, auto and alkaline batteries, small appliances, florescent and incandescent bulbs, tires, plastics, Styrofoam, packaging materials like bubble wrap, clean plastic bags and clothing.

Do not bring: household chemicals, paint, building supplies or mattresses. For more information, you can the hotline at 214.670.4475.

You can also take recyclable electronic items to Snappy Salads at Preston and Forest, which is providing food for volunteers that day.
