W.T. White senior, Katie Dahlander, is among about 2,100 students nationwide who have advanced to the next level of the 2011 Coca-Cola Scholars Program.

Students are selected based on academic performance, leadership and achievement in school and community activities. The program is one of the largest corporate-sponsored scholarship programs in the U.S. In Spring 2011, the program will award $3 million in scholarship grants.

If Dahlander advances again, she will be among only 250 finalists who will travel to Atlanta in April to attend the Coca-Cola Scholars Weekend. That’s where she’d undergo her final review process, which will determine whether she becomes a National or Regional Scholar. The 50 National Scholars will each receive a $20,000 scholarship award, and 200 Regional Scholars will receive $10,000.
