If this holiday season has you feeling a little blue, then this weekend has your yuletide cure.

Winter Solstice is just around the corner, on Tuesday, Dec. 21, and if you’re looking to celebrate the changing of the season, Earth Rhythms is hosting its 2010 Winter Solsticelebration at the Cathedral of Hope. Dancers, musicians, poets, vocalists and performers will be on hand to entertain guests. The event will also feature a tribute to the life of John Lennon, in remembrance of the 30th anniversary of his death, with music from the Beatles and a bicycle mounted Yellow Submarine. The solstice service begins Friday, Dec. 17 from 7-9 p.m. Tickets are $12, $10 in advance and $8 for seniors and children.

In case you miss the celebration, Yule Fest will begin at 6 p.m. and will continue after the Winter Solsticelebration. The event will include live music and photos with Father Winter. Donations of canned meat, fish and crackers, and winter clothing are encouraged.
