Editor Emily Toman announced the news of Gio’s Cafe and New York Deli arriving in the neighborhood.

For those of you who have become followers of the New York Style delicatessen, which recently opened Dec. 10, keep an eye out for its upcoming Shabbat Dinners on Friday nights. There is no official date set, but co-owner Lisa Giannopolous said the reason for the dinners is due in part to the regulars of the Jewish community.

Giannopolous says, “Our niche is the Jewish community–they’re our bread and butter.”

The deli already carries several Jewish delicacies such as: challah, black and white cookies, motzah balls, rye bread, bagels and its specialty beef and pastrami from the famous Carnegie Deli in New York City.

The restaurant is currently featuring a breakfast special. The meal will be served from 7-10 a.m. Monday-Saturday, though Giannopolous says the weekends are temporary for the breakfast special. The meal includes: two eggs, potatoes, bagel or toast and coffee for $4.95.
