If you’re a fan of the French New Wave, the Meadows School of Art at SMU will present a special screening of Francois Truffaut’s 1960 hit “Shoot the Piano Player” at 7 p.m. Feb. 2 in the Greer Garson Theatre, Room 3531 inside the Owen Arts Center. The classic film puts a different spin on the Hollywood gangster movies of its time.

The screening is all part of a monthly series of 35mm films from the SMU Collection, presented by Dr. Sean Griffin, chair of the Division of Film and Media Arts at SMU. Admission is free.

Correction: The earlier version of this post incorrectly reported that the event is presented by the Meadows Museum.
