I’m not as ready as I want to be — the winter boots I ordered from Amazon probably won’t arrive until Thursday. But my portable electronics are charged, I have lots of batteries, candles and flashlights,  and I even bought coffee filters so I can drip coffee with boiling water (I have a gas cook top).

So if and when the ice storm hits tomorrow, and if and when we have more rolling blackouts, I won’t be quite so miserable as last year.
