Storm leaves blood supply running low

Carter BloodCare and the Red Cross are urging people to give blood over the next few days since last week’s winter weather caused the lowest blood supply in a decade. The local Red Cross stated that the amount of uncollected blood donations rose to nearly 28,000.

All types of blood are needed, but especially O-Negative, A-Negative and B-Negative.

The nearest Carter BloodCare location is at Preston Valley just south of Preston and LBJ.
