The National Center for Educational Achievement released its 2010 list of Higher Performing Schools in Texas, and two of them are in our neighborhood: E.D. Walker Middle School and George Bannerman Dealey Montessori. You can view the full list here and see the breakdown for each school.

The NCEA recognizes elementary, middle and high schools that have consistently outperformed others. The award is based on TAKs scores and the amount of academic growth or absolute achievement.

The NCEA, a department of ACT Inc., operates as a nonprofit and has been releasing its list of High Performing Schools annually since 1998, recognizing schools that have a highest levels of college readiness.

Correction: Marsh Middle School also received recognition from NCEA for math performance.
