As rose is a rose is a rose. So, you might as well head over to the North Haven Gardens Spring Rose Festival, beginning bright and early Saturday and Sunday morning. You can shop hundreds of rose varieties and attend special programs to learn more about what makes each type of bloom unique. The event kicks off at 7 a.m. Saturday. The first 50 people to arrive will receive a free bag of Vital Earth Rose Mix or a free rose plant.

When it comes to your vital organs, the kidneys are kind of big deal. Learn how to take better care of them during a special seminar 9-10 a.m. Saturday at Medical City Hospital. The free event is part of the hospital’s Saturdays in the City series. Specialists will offer tips, and yoga instructor Valerie Plese will demonstrate postures that promote overall health. Register here.

Stratos Greek Tavern is known for its wild and crazy nights with belly dancers and other live entertainment. But this weekend, the Dallas String Quartet will take the stage for a free performance 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the restaurant. You also can enjoy half-priced wine and $5 appetizers.
