Well, it’s actually returning to its roots, according to a WFAA report Sunday. Prestonwood Baptist Church, which has a congregation of about 30,000 people, plans to add another location just south of Hillcrest and LBJ.That’s a few miles south of its original spot before the church moved to Plano.
The space is currently home to the Hillcrest Church, and Prestonwood is offering $18 million to buy the building. Hillcrest has a history of battling with local homeowners over its size and parking lot. Those discussions may heat up again as Prestonwood – one of the top 20 largest churches in the nation – moves in.
