Earlier in the week, all W. T. White High School choirs performed in their Spring Concert and distributed local and UIL awards for the year. For the first time in almost 30 years, Varsity Mixed and Girls Varsity choirs each received the UIL Sweepstakes Award, the highest award a choir can receive at competition.
Many students will compete at State Competition in June: Juan Aguinaga, Paola Arreola, Kyle Barnes, Griselda Cortez, Ana Diaz, Caine Frederique, Jatsive Hernandez, Raquel Jones, Jennifer Melendez, Marvin Melendez, Amir Nami, Anna Plunkett, Isaiah Rice, Selvin Rosa, Racquel Scaggs, Linda Schiestel, Vanessa Serrano, Brittany Sewell, Demetrio Teniente, Jacorey Upshaw, Justin Wallace, Jade Watkins and Walter Zelaya.
