Our beloved neighborhood dive bar, Inwood Tavern, marks its 47th anniversary this year, having opened in 1964. There’s a party 7 p.m.-close Friday, June 3.
To celebrate the milestone, the bar will have half-price wine, $1 JELLO shots and its signature root beer shots for $2. Brannon Barrett will perform live music 7-9 p.m. And for late-night snacks, there’s sno cones and tacos on the patio until 10 p.m.
Owners Lisa and Elia “Tom” Georgalis bought the Inwood Tavern from the previous owners last year and have spruced up the place. They added the patio with misters and flat screen TVs and updated the interior with new pool tables, shuffleboard, TVs and tables. The bar now hosts karaoke on Mondays, pool tournaments on Sundays and regular live music and Djs.
