City Council on Wednesday is expected to approve a $1.6 million contract with McKinney-based Roeschco Construction Inc. to build the Northaven Trail.
When completed sometime between January and April of 2012, the hike-and-bike trail will run along the Oncor power line easement, from Northaven Road to Royal Lane. The goal is for Northaven Trail to connect to White Rock Creek Trail.
The Friends of Northaven Trail, which raises money for trail amenities such as benches, lighting and public art, will hold a groundbreaking ceremony at 10:30 a.m. Saturday July 9 at Dealey Park.
