Neighborhood musician Ben Higginbotham performs a show 6:30-9:30 p.m. Saturday at Neuhaus Cafe. On keyboard and vocals, Ben draws inspiration from artists like Ben Folds and Relient K. Earlier this year, he was part of the EP “Booker 3” at Booker T. Washington where he’s now a junior. He previously attended Degolyer and Marsh. Check out this video from a recent performance at the Balcony Club. You can also catch Ben at the Carrollton Festival at the Switchyard where he is the reigning Battle of the Bands champion.

The Meadows Museum hosts a Family Day event, “New Ways of Seeing”, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday. Families can experience works of art without their sense of sight, participating in a variety of multi-sensory activities. Admission is free, and there’s no registration required.

Stop by NorthPark Center for the giant canned food drive known as Canstruction, which begins Saturday and is on display through Oct. 16. Dallas engineers and architects are competing to build 23 different structures using thousands of cans that will later be donated to the North Texas Food Bank.
