Good Shepherd Episcopal School held a special ceremony to bless students’ pets (or stuffed animals) on Thursday. Lay Chaplains Rhonda Shannon and Nancy Pierce led the event.

It wasn’t limited to just cats and dogs, people brought their snakes, birds, frogs, turtles and other critters.

The Blessing of the Animals is traditionally held on the Sunday closest to Oct. 4, which honors St. Francis Assisi, the patron saint of animals.

Plus, who can resist awing over kids and their pets?
