Our neighborhood public high schools are some of the best in the district when it comes to preparing kids for college.
Hillcrest and W.T. White are among six Dallas ISD schools to receive the College Readiness award from the Texas ACT Council. The schools are being recognized for increasing the number of students taking the ACT college entrance exam over the past five years and significantly increasing achievement.
The council includes secondary and post-secondary who advise the use of ACT programs in Texas schools.
Other DISD schools that received the award are the School for the Talented and Gifted at Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Center, the School of Business and Management at Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Center, Rosie M. Collins Sorrells School of Education and Social Services at Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Center and W.W. Samuell High School.
