Looks like our community is among the safest. Crime has dropped 9 percent over last year in the North Central Division, which includes part of Preston Hollow, and that’s the biggest decrease of all seven of the city’s substations. Dallas’ overall crime rate has been on the decline for several years.

Congrats to the officers at our station for a job well done. But, few can argue that strong neighborhoods also play a key role in crime fighting.

North Central police chief Jesse Reyes told me once that of all the stations he has worked at, North Central has some of the strongest neighborhood involvement.

So, crime watch gurus, Volunteers in Patrol, block captains, etc. – give yourself a pat on the back, too.
